Invasive Plant Stewardships

American River Parkway Sacramento Weed WarriorsWhat?
The ARPF has a robust Invasive Plant Management Program. Invasive Plant Stewards volunteer to remove invasive plants along the Parkway! This can be a single dedicated person or a group of individuals who adopt an area of the Parkway from which to remove invasive plants.

This program is vital to preventing invasive plants from over-running the Parkway, keeping natural habitats intact, and giving generations to come the experience of what our natural landscape should look like.

What’s Involved?

  • Invasive Plant Stewards make a one-year commitment to volunteer in a specific area of the Parkway.
  • ARPF provides Invasive Plant Stewards with tools, training and staff support
  • Invasive Plant Stewards report activities on a shared Google Doc. Invasive Plant Stewards communicate regularly and often work together.
