Champion
Our programs would not thrive without the support of our wonderful volunteers who dedicate hours to removing trash and invasive plants, restoring park infrastructure, clearing trails, helping at events, entering computer data and more.

Check out the chart below to see how our volunteers spent time helping on your Parkway in 2017.

Hours by Program

Trash Removed by Mile
Clean-Ups Our volunteer Mile Stewards dedicate hours all year to removing trash, graffiti, and abandoned camps from the American River Parkway. Volunteers also joined us for monthly clean-ups at various locations along the river. These clean-ups, combined with our Spring Clean-Up and Great American River Clean-Up (GARCU), removed an astonishing 112,038.5 pounds of trash and debris from the Parkway in 2017.
Check out the impact of our clean-up volunteers, broken down by mile of the Parkway in the chart below.
