During the month of August, 147 volunteers spent 400.5 hours removing 1,859 pounds of trash and 29,764 invasive plants including Stinkwort, Red Sesbania, and Tallow from the American River Parkway.

We also welcomed an awesome group of volunteers from The Boldt Company that repaired and replaced four picnic tables in William B. Pond Park!

Team Giving

Team Giving

We are excited to introduce Team Giving, a new volunteer Mile Steward of Mile 00 South as of March 2017. We asked them to tell us a bit about themselves and their connection to the American River Parkway. Check out the snippet below, or click "Read More" for the full write-up!

Team Giving is committed to helping create healthy, safe, sustainable communities through our partnerships with volunteer teams and non-profit organizations...

We are so fortunate to have such a rich and diverse environment literally in our backyard! The Parkway offers a safe place to enjoy the outdoors, experience wildlife, share quality time with family and friends and a chance to meet others in the community.

A walk on our proposed adoptive “Mile” convinced us that we could easily become caretakers for this lovely place.

Thank you for taking such great care of this local treasure!

Say hello at Team Giving's next mile cleanup on October 7th!
