Multi-Use Trails

Since 2009 ARPF has taken the lead in maintaining the multi-use trail or as most refer to it as the "equestrian trail". This trail runs along the entire 23 miles of parkway and reveals a different level of beauty that the American River Parkway has to offer.

Permitted uses are horseback riding, running, hiking, and walking (we encourage all users not to ride bikes or have off-leash dogs on this trail).

Annual maintenance involves mowing grass and noxious weeds, clearing back encroaching brush, replacing vandalized signs, and removing downed trees, all of which happen throughout the year in this hidden gem.

If you would like to get involved:

- Volunteer for a trail maintenance event
- Become a trail steward
- Join the Equestrian Trail Patrol (for those with horses)
- Donate to support the cause
