Join us for a day of fun, community and adventure at the Spring Recreation Fair hosted by the American River Parkway Foundation! This FREE exciting event will take place on May 17, 2025 at Discovery Park celebrating the beauty of the American River Parkway and all the recreational opportunities it has to offer. Whether you are an avid user of the Parkway, new and looking for fun ways to enjoy it, or just want to spend a fun day outside this event is for you.
Explore a variety of recreational activities designed for all ages! Engage with local organizations showcasing their programs and learn about the many different recreational opportunities on the Parkway:Â

The American River Parkway Foundation has partnered with SacRT to offer free rides to Spring Recreation Fair. To ride free, simply print or screenshot this Free Ride Flyer and present it to the bus operator upon boarding or have ready for fare inspector on light rail.

What is the Spring Recreation Fair?
A free community event to showcase the Parkway’s many recreational opportunities. Discover new ways to enjoy our beautiful Parkway with activities for all ages! Explore a variety of recreational activities with vendors from across the 23-mile Parkway sharing hands-on recreation activities for everyone. Whether you're looking to learn, explore, or simply have a fun day outdoors, this event is the perfect opportunity to connect with nature and your community.
Do I need to register before the event?
Nope, there is no pre-registration for this free event.
What are the hours?
10AM-2PM on Saturday, May 17th, 2025 at Discovery Park, 1600 Garden Hwy Sacramento, CA 95833

Are there age restrictions?
Nope, this is an all-ages event perfect for families, friends, or individuals.
What is Recreation Fair Bingo?
The Recreation Fair bingo game is a fun way to explore the event! Visit participating booths, complete simple activities, and mark off your squares. Once you get Bingo, turn in your card for a chance to win a prize!
Will there be food?
Yes! There will be food trucks such as Pinorrito and Bad Baker donuts or you can buy a ticket for the American River Burger Battle.
What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?
Parking is available in Discovery Park and normal Sacramento County Park fees apply. We are also partnering with SacRT to offer free rides to the Spring Recreation Fair. To ride free, simply print or screenshot the Free Ride Flyer from our website and present it to the bus operator upon boarding. Click here to see how to access the Parkway using SacRT.
Can I bring a pet?
We love our furry friends, but for the safety and comfort of all guests, pets are not permitted at the event. Only ADA compliant service dogs will be permitted inside the festival.
