Saturday, the American River Parkway Foundation (ARPF) is holding an annual volunteer cleanup event to pick up trash and beautify the American River.
The Great American River Clean-Up is the foundation’s largest annual volunteer event. Every year, volunteers descend on 13 sites along the 23-mile parkway to pick up trash, lay mulch, and complete beautification projects.
“We run solely on volunteers,” said Jules Baez, ARPF community engagement volunteer manager. “Everything we do really is to impact the parkway, make sure it’s a beautiful place to come visit, and our lovely volunteers help us to do that.”
The cleanup is taking place Saturday from 9 a.m. until 12 p.m. at sites along the American River Parkway. Everyone is welcome to walk up and participate, but registration is available at arpf.org.
