Join us on Saturday, December 5th, at William B. Pond Park for our very first Winter on the Parkway event! From 10 am to 1 pm, we will be kicking off a season full of cheer with a day of family fun, complete with:

  • Photos with Santa (11 am – 12:30 pm)
  • A Dog Sweater Contest
  • A kid’s holiday craft corner
  • A Reindeer-themed Nature Walk
  • Plus, a few more surprises!

Holiday refreshments will be available for purchase from our Parkway Pick-Me-Up coffee cart. All ticket proceeds support the American River Parkway Foundation and the work we do to make the Parkway accessible to all.

❄️ Tickets are $5 per person, which includes:

Photos with Santa: Santa Claus will be at William B. Pond Park from 11 am to 12:30 pm. Gather your loved ones (including children, dogs, and friends) and take a photo that will last a lifetime. Your ticket gets you a printed and digital copy of your family’s photo with Santa.

Kid’s Holiday Craft Corner: Make a thumbprint ornament or a snowflake ornament to hang on your Christmas tree at home, or make a Star of David craft to celebrate the second night of Hanukkah. You can make all three crafts or pick and choose.

Dog Sweater Contest: Does your pup have an enviable collection of festive sweaters? Enter them in our Dog Sweater Contest between 10 am and 12:30 pm. At 12:30 pm, the competing dogs will model their sweaters in a brief parade before the judges name the winners.

Reindeer-Themed Nature Walk & Scavenger Hunt: Parker, the Parkway’s very own reindeer, invited his cousins from Santa’s Workshop to visit, but now it’s time for them to head back to the North Pole. The only problem? Parker has lost them somewhere in William B. Pond Park. Embark on a mile-long nature walk and scavenger hunt to see if you can spot all nine of Santa’s reindeer to help Parker get them home in time for the holidays.
