The Sacramento Running Association and ARPF are proud to partner on the fourth annual Run the Parkway event, the Official Training Run of the California International Marathon.

Saturday, November 5, 2022

    • Packet Pick-Up – Help distribute packets to race participants at Fleet Feet Sacramento on J St.
      • Shift 1 – 9:30 a.m. – 2 p.m. (8 volunteers needed)
      • Shift 2 – 1:30 – 6:30 p.m. (8 volunteers needed)
    • Finish Line Set-Up – Assist SRA build team with placing signs, banners and flags; move some tables and fence and other logistical help. (Must be at least 16-years-old and be able to lift 20+ pounds.)
      • Shift – Noon – 3 p.m.


Sunday, November 6, 2022

    • Parking Attendants – Help race participants navigate assigned parking areas. (Must be at least 16-years-old.)
      • Shift – 5:30 – 7:45 a.m. (20 volunteers needed)
    • Registration – Help check in the race day registrations and hand out bib numbers. (Must be at least 16-years-old.)
      • Shift – 5:30 – 7:30 a.m. (20 volunteers needed)
    • Start Line – Put up the arch, signs, banners and flags as well as help move tables and fence and other logistical help.
      • Shift – 5:30 – 8 a.m. (5 volunteers needed)
    • Finish Line Controlled Zone – Distribute water to 20-mile runners as they pass back through William B. Pond Recreation Area; direct runners to the Finish Line or outbound onto the 20-Mile course; distribute food, water and medals to runners once they’ve crossed the Finish Line; and help with post-race clean-up.
      • Shift – 7:30 – Noon (10-20 volunteers needed)
    • Beer Garden – Check ID, monitor fencing, pour beers from kegs, clear empty cups and generally help maintain the space. (Must be least 21-years-old.)
      • Shift – 7:30 – 11:30 a.m. (5 volunteers needed)
    • Food Court – Cut and distribute food to race participants and help with post-race clean-up.
      • Shift – 9 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. (5-10 volunteers needed)
    • Course Marshal – Direct vehicle traffic and race participants throughout the course to ensure everyone stays on course and maintain course safety.
      • Shift – 6:45 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. (37 volunteers needed)



    Be a Vendor!

    After the run will be a family festival with a beer garden and music. Vendors can rent one 10×10 space for $50 or two spaces for $80 to join in the atmosphere. Having interactive or creative displays is encouraged!
